Job Description & How to Apply Below
Alaria Home Care is built on the belief that care should be rooted in dignity, emotional awareness, and deep respect for the human experience. We are seeking caregivers who understand that this work is not just physical. It is relational, emotional, and deeply impactful.
If you are someone who is calm under pressure, naturally compassionate, and able to meet people where they are–this may be the role for you.
What You'll Do:- Support clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
- Provide mobility support and safe transfers
- Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Accompany clients to appointments or errands (optional)
- Offer emotional support to individuals experiencing aging, illness, and life or cognitive changes
- Engage clients in activities that promote cognitive stimulation and emotional well-being
- Accurately document services provided and any changes in the client's physical or mental condition
- Emotional intelligence over task completion
- Presence over performance
- Understanding behavior–not reacting to it
- Many of our clients require not just physical assistance, but someone who can remain patient, calm, and respectful in moments of confusion, frustration, or vulnerability.
- Has a natural sense of empathy and patience
- Can stay calm and regulated in challenging situations
- Communicates clearly and respectfully
- Is dependable and takes their role seriously
- Has caregiving experience (professional and personal)
- Experience with dementia, behavioral health, or trauma-informed care is a strong plus, but not required.
- Flexible scheduling
- Competitive pay ($17-$22), tied to tenure, experience, and training
- Shift differentials for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Preference-based matching
- Part-time and full-time hours
- A supportive, mission-driven work environment
- Opportunities for growth
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check
- Prior caregiving experience
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with mobility
- Patience, reliability, and professionalism
- Experience working with clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health issues (preferred but not required)
- HCA or HHA certification (preferred but not required)
