Job Title:
Inspector

Job Description

The Inspector is responsible for inspecting aerospace engine components to ensure they meet strict quality standards before moving forward in the manufacturing process. This role focuses on identifying defects, verifying that parts conform to blueprints and customer specifications, and documenting inspection results while working closely with production and quality teams in a clean, climate-controlled aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect machined, welded, and manufactured aerospace parts, including vanes and blades, to identify defects, damage, or any nonconformance to specifications.

  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify part dimensions against blueprints and customer requirements.

  • Interpret blueprints, including dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T, to ensure parts are built correctly and meet engineering requirements.

  • Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming parts that do not meet quality standards or customer specifications.

  • Document inspection findings accurately and enter results into company systems, including quality and production databases.

  • Participate in quality audits and certification processes to support compliance with aerospace standards and internal procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues, support root cause analysis, and ensure customer requirements are consistently met.

  • Perform testing on vanes and blades for aerospace applications, following established procedures and quality criteria.

  • Support troubleshooting activities related to part quality, mechanical issues, and changeovers on relevant equipment as needed.

  • Operate or interface with CNC machines, grinding equipment, EDM machines, and other production or inspection equipment as required by the inspection process.

  • Apply ACE tools and continuous improvement methods to enhance inspection efficiency and product quality.

  • Use computer systems, including quality and production software, to retrieve work instructions, record data, and track part status.

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment while working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Support production needs, which may occasionally include weekend work or alternative workweek schedules.

  • Meet and maintain required vision standards in accordance with NAS
410 or internal equivalent for inspection tasks.

Essential Skills
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, inspection, or quality control, preferably in a precision or aerospace environment.

  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, including dimensions and tolerances.

  • Basic understanding of print tolerances and the ability to interpret some GD&T.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect subtle defects and inconsistencies.

  • Basic computer skills for documentation, data entry, and use of quality systems.

  • Experience working with or around CNC machines, grinding equipment, EDM machines, and related mechanical or production equipment.

  • Ability to support troubleshooting, mechanical tasks, and changeovers related to part quality and inspection.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with team members.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Comfort working in an aerospace manufacturing setting where quality and precision are critical.

  • Proficiency using ACE tools and a clear understanding of continuous improvement concepts.

  • Ability to meet vision requirements in accordance with NAS
    410 or…
