Building- Substitute Teacher Subject

The building-based substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment, enabling each child to pursue his/her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher.

• Building-based subs will be used to support each school and serve as substitute teachers.
• When not needed as substitutes, they can be used to support teachers with small groups of students or individual students and/or cover teacher duties.
• Building-based subs will be granted an automatic interview for any position for which they are certified.
• Building-based subs will be paid $160 per day and receive no health benefits.
• Building-based subs can voluntarily participate in any PD sessions.
• Building-based subs will be considered for any long-term sub position for the  school year.
• This is a different position from day-to-day substitute positions.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Screening Committee may find appropriate.
