SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineering Team Manager to help lead the systems engineering team for the MK 710 Automated Test Set program. This position will be on site in Middletown, RI
. This role ensures that the Systems Engineering team is qualified, trained, and executing in alignment with DoD acquisition requirements and meets the needs of the tasking to support the MK710 program. The ideal candidate has a strong Electrical Engineering and/or Software Engineering background and deep experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Lead, mentor, and develop the Systems Engineering (SE) team.
Ensure SE staff are trained and proficient in DoD systems engineering processes.
Oversee requirements development, decomposition, and traceability.
Manage system architecture, interface definitions, and configuration control.
Ensure alignment with the full systems lifecycle: concept, design, integration, verification, validation, and transition to production.
Support preparation for and execution of program Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events, including SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PRR.
Promote disciplined engineering practices, documentation quality, and adherence to applicable MIL-STDs.
Lead technical risk management and issue resolution.
Work collaboratively with program leadership, IPT leads, and cross‑functional teams.
Support Digital Engineering practices including MBSE methodologies.
Manage and allocate the SE workforce in support of the program's goals and objectives.
- Manage direct reports within the SE team, comprised of different levels of skillsets in different areas of systems engineering.
- Report to the MK 710 Program Manager and support the MK 710 Lead Systems Engineer.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of engineering experience
4+ years serving in a technical leadership or management role.
Strong understanding of SDLC, systems engineering processes, and hardware/software integration.
Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of requirements management, interface control, and verification planning.
Familiarity with MIL‑STD processes and DoD technical review requirements.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Candidate must be a US Citizen.
Must be a willing/able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Engineering or Systems Engineering.
Experience with automated test equipment or embedded systems.
Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo) and requirements tools (e.g., DOORS NG).
Knowledge of MIL‑STD‑881 and related standards.
Experience in Agile, SAFe, or similar environments.
