Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP is currently seeking an Engineering Technician IV. Engineering Technicians at SEACORP perform a wide range of technical activities related to SUBMARINE Installations and the production, prototyping, testing, installation, troubleshooting, upgrading and optimization of Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) on a variety of military platforms. Engineering Technicians perform work in a laboratory environment and/or in the field and are often experienced users of a particular system.

Responsibilities Include:
- Design basic circuitry and draft sketches for clarification of details and design documentation under engineers' direction, using drafting instruments or computer-aided design (CAD) equipment.
- Develops or reviews designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data.
- Applies conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and diagrams.
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
- Hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts.
- Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.
- Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures.
- Sets up and operates equipment.
- Records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level.
- Analyzes data and prepares test reports.
- Applies methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects.
- Constructs experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
- Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron.
- Fabricate parts, such as coils, terminal boards, or chassis, using bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools.
- Provide user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements.
- Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use.
- Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
- Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
- Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
- Research equipment or component needs, sources, competitive prices, delivery times, or ongoing operational costs.
Qualifications:
Education: Technical School Diploma.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience. Experience in Submarine Installations desired.
Location: Middletown, RI
Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
Clearance: Secret
