SAIC is looking for an organized and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer in Middletown, RI. This candidate must have strong attention to detail to join our innovative team. As an essential part of our team, you will contribute to the design, documentation, configuration management, and testing of diverse systems, including undersea defensive systems, torpedo test equipment, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), and more. You'll work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines, including computer, test, electrical, and systems engineering, ensuring successful project completion.

Job Duties
  • Primary focus will be supporting of the technical data package including creating, reviewing and updating drawings and leading the control configuration management of the system.
  • Design mechanical systems for underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a history of excelling at multiple concurrent challenges and an eagerness and aptitude for learning new things.
Qualifications

Required

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and five(5) years or more experience;
    Masters and three(3) years or more related experience.
  • Five (5) years of engineering design, modeling, and drawing development in Solid Works.
  • Experience creating technical data package quality drawings using GD&T.
  • Experience leading the configuration management of a technical design package.
Clearance
  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain a security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
Desired Skills
  • Experience using configuration management software and methodologies.
  • Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status.
  • Experience working on Navy programs, such as torpedoes or other unmanned undersea vehicle systems, such as the AN/SLQ-25 Nixie.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
