We are working with an established business based in Middlewich, looking to recruit an Accounts Clerk to join its small, friendly team.

The business has been established for over 20 years and operates across a range of industries, supplying specialist products to a diverse customer base.

This is a varied, hands-on role within a small team, offering responsibility for a range of day-to-day accounts and finance administration duties.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

* Completing daily bank reconciliations.

* Raising sales invoices for management approval and ensuring accurate month-end cut-off.

* Processing purchase invoices onto Sage, ensuring correct nominal and VAT coding.

* Updating daily cash flow forecasts and reconciling against bank accounts.

* Managing petty cash and completing monthly reconciliations.

* Preparing weekly supplier payment runs.

* Checking supplier statements and following up on discrepancies or missing invoices.

* Processing mileage and expense claims.

* Assisting with physical stock counts and recording stock information on Excel.

* Supporting sales administration with order processing, order acknowledgements and proforma invoices.

* Maintaining accurate finance records and filing.

* Providing general finance and administrative support as required.

The Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role.

* Good understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes.

* Experience using Sage would be advantageous.

* Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office.

* Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

* Able to work independently and as part of a small team.

* A flexible, positive approach with a willingness to help across the business.
