Finance Manager
Voice, Inc. of Michigan is seeking a Finance Manager to analyze financial data and prepare reports that track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax obligations, and related financial activities. The role provides oversight and guidance to staff, ensuring quality control, accuracy, and timely completion of departmental tasks, while maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies and meeting all mandated deadlines and reporting requirements.

- Maintain and audit employee timesheets for accuracy.
- Prepare and process payroll for organization personnel.
- Prepare payroll related journal entries weekly for period-end.
- Compile and submit payroll deduction check requests and payments; maintain current knowledge of IRS regulations.
- Perform financial and clerical duties in accounting.
- Post to general ledger and other systems; process accounts payable/receivable.
- Assist with proofing ledgers and daily transactions.
- Assist with bank deposits, reconcile balances and other accounts; gather data for report preparation.
- Participate in special projects such as the preparation of the annual budget.
- Present financials to Agency Board Members monthly, quarterly, & annually.
- Present Finance Department financials at quarterly and annual company meetings.
- Calculate and balance payrolls.
- Communicate changes in salary, benefits, etc. to leadership and employees.
- Handle voluntary and involuntary deductions.
- Enter changes to employee payroll records.
- Create reports for retirement and payroll information.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Coordinate and assist in presentations to service providers, government entities, schools, and businesses.
- Prepare reports as specified by Executive Director or Director of Finance.
- Lead and manage staff; set performance expectations and drive adherence to processes.
- Participate in after‑hours, evening, and weekend events as needed.
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees required, with 2–5 years of relevant professional experience and a track record of supervising and developing team members. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Quick Books, Paycor, Interpreter Intelligence, and Wellsky. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform bookkeeping functions related to billing, payroll, timekeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
RequirementsMust be able to stand for long hours, sit for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening, physical, and background check; possess a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a good driving record. Willing to work flexible hours and/or days when needed. Must maintain First Aid/CPR certification throughout employment.
