Summary
The Supply Distribution Supervisor plans, organizes, coordinates and through cost effective and efficient processes, inventory control practices for My Michigan Medical Center Midland as well as My Michigan Health affiliates, consistent with My Michigan Health guidelines. The supervisor is responsible for oversight of daily warehouse staffing, general operations and process improvements necessary to meet the evolving needs of a growing health system.
Responsibilities- (25%)
* Oversees lifecycle of inventory, including receiving, storing, issuing and replenishing supplies to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and waste. Utilizes inventory management systems and software to track inventory levels, expiration dates, and usage patterns. Conducts regular audits and inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy and accountability. - (25%)
* Orders and expedites inventory items on a daily basis. Follows up on backorders and ensures proper credits are provided as appropriate. - (25%)
* Collaborates with vendors, purchasing agents and end user SME to identify and acquire product substitutions. - (25%)
* Ensures that all customer transactions and cycle counts are completed are audited for accuracy and customer concerns addressed in a timely manner. Follows up on receiving corrections that are needed to ensure the accuracy of the counts and value.
Handles the forms management for stock and non-stock, ensuring that jobs that can be in-sourced are handled in that fashion if cost effective and efficient.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Experience, Training and Skills- Three (3) to four (4) years progressive experience in materials acquisition, materials management information systems use, and inventory management practices required.
- Seven (7) years combined experience in material management practices in a health care setting preferred.
- Ability to understand materials management information system process flow and expertise in logistical practices required.
- Decision making and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully and in clear concise manner with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels.
- Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
