Summary
This position cares for patients before, during and after an electrophysiology procedure. This position cares for Structural heart (including Watchman), Lead extractions, ablations, Vascular and EP pacemaker / device patients. This includes pre‑procedure assessment, pre‑medication, documentation of procedural process, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post‑procedure care and patient education.
Responsibilities(35%)
* Performs nursing care for the above outlined procedures, but not limited to:

* Circulate and assist during cases, including sterically dropping procedural supplies on tray, scrubbing in the case, running for supplies.
(15%)
* Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
(15%)
* Assists Radiologic Technologists by circulating cases and sterically dropping procedural supplies on tray.
Collaborates with physicians to provide a plan of care for each individualized patient.
Assists in other radiology/cardiology procedures as needed.
Performs clinical functions as needed.
Delegates and coordinates tasks and assignments of nursing care.
Assumes responsibility for professional growth by seeking educational opportunities and utilizing programs in the hospital.
Precepts/mentors new employees and students.

Knowledge of the nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associates Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.

Knowledge of the nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associates Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.
Education Specialization: NRG
Knowledge of critical care nursing as normally acquired through 2 years of experience working in a Medical Center or similar setting.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and to interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Preferred: Electrophysiology skills as gained through a minimum of 1 year of experience working in an electrophysiology lab environment.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Typical Working ConditionsExposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes wearing lead and latex materials or an appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about the facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing are necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, maintain regular and predictable attendance and remain alert.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0‑33% of the workday) lift or carry 21‑50 lbs., frequently (34‑66% of the workday) 20 lbs., and constantly (67‑100% of the workday) 10 lbs. or perform Arm/Leg control movements as required.
