SCHEDULE
Intermittent work on call where there is no promise of hours but you can work up to 20 hours per week dependent on the needs of the agency. We request you pick up one to two shifts weekly fts are 24/7: 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, 3pm - 11pm, 4pm - 12am, 7pm - 3am, 11pm - 7am, and 12am to 8am.
Weekend shift coverage is required. All shifts will need coverage at some point. Advance notice is usually given except during illness or emergency.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $16.53 - $22.54 depending on experience
Job Summary
The monitors the health, safety, and security of designated recipients simultaneously via electronic monitoring systems from a central location and responds to their needs verbally, in person, or by arranging for the appropriate response. Responds and supports at scheduled intervals determined by the service plan as needed or on an emergency basis.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provides direct care, intervention and support needs of recipients during hours when face‑to‑face staff are not present in homes.
- Operates electronic monitoring systems ensuring each works properly.
- Monitors incoming auditory cues for indications that support or intervention is needed.
- Pay special attention to needs identified in service plans and potential emergency situations through the system or in person.
- Nurtures, comforts and assures available opportunities for communication by recipients through the monitoring systems.
- Complies with all applicable policies and procedures including documentation requirements in a timely manner.
- Promotes safe, secure and healthful living conditions for recipients.
- Knows and follows emergency procedures affecting recipients’ welfare.
Employment Standards
- General
Education:
High School diploma or GED is required. - Job‑Related
Experience:
Sufficient experience required; preferred two years caregiver role serving individuals with developmental disability or mental illness. - Licenses: Valid driver’s license necessary while operating vehicle on agency business.
- Knowledge: of individuals with developmental disabilities, medications, appropriate living conditions and emergency procedures.
- Skills: basic computer, reading, telephone.
- Abilities: independent judgment, verbal communication, crisis management, organization, respect for recipients, teamwork.
- Physical Demands: periods of sitting or standing, listening; requires driving, walking, lifting, positioning.
- Work Environment: control room, agency automobiles, recipients’ homes, community at-large.
