About this role

Dow has an opportunity for a Solution Specialist located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. This role:
Designs, develops, and supports solutions and processes to meet business needs and requirements. Applies expanded conceptual knowledge in Information Systems as well as knowledge of the company, key business drivers, and processes in order to develop solutions. In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area.

You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others. It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

• Gathers and analyzes business requirements for assigned functional and technical areas using expanded conceptual and practical knowledge
• Works closely with business process teams, technical teams and other stakeholders to design and build objects which meet requirements
• Communicates effectively both within the team and with external stakeholders (e.g. businesses and technical counterparts)
• Communicates status, metrics, risks, and issues on a timely basis
• Applies knowledge and experience in software development methodologies in order to support work processes
• Documents detailed designs
• Builds, tests and implements application objects
• Assists with issue resolution
• Helps ensure that functional and technical designs meet business requirements, conform to Dow architecture standards, and optimize productivity and long-term product/system vision

• Support SAP Quality Management (QM) solutions that enable quality processes across global manufacturing operations
• Partner with quality business process experts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate them into scalable and supportable technology solutions
• Lead functional analysis, solution design, testing, deployment, and support activities for SAP QM enhancements and projects
• Support quality execution processes by addressing application issues related to inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions, quality notifications, quality reporting, and batch-related quality management
• Analyze and resolve application, process, data, and integration issues by applying structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis approaches in collaboration with business and technical teams
• Support and contribute to project delivery, system upgrades, testing cycles, and deployments impacting quality management applications
• Develop and maintain functional specifications, testing strategies, support procedures, and knowledge transfer materials to improve solution clarity and supportability
