Registered Nurse - Nights Med/Surg Specialty Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Nights, 12-hour shifts

The registered nurse will perform direct patient/resident care and delegation to patient care technicians in providing care and comfort to the residents. Knowledge and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines relating to facility care will be maintained. This position requires basic medical/surgical knowledge to care for general surgical and orthopedic surgical patients.

• Regularly assesses patient's/client's needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician-authorized plan of care, and accepted standards of nursing practice.
• Provides direct resident care, including medication administration, treatments, call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment plan and makes suggestions or participates in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with other team members.
• Processes physician/provider orders and performs physician-ordered care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Follows up regarding medication changes and order clarifications.

• 2+ Years of Med Surg Experience - Required
• Travel Work Experience - Highly Preferred
• Epic EMR Experience - Highly Preferred
• Active American Heart Association BLS - Required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS - Required
• Active Michigan Nursing License - Required
• Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertaining to the specialty (Med Surg) - Required
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed within the last two years - Required
