Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and provide strong accounting leadership for a finance consulting environment in Midland, Texas. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate reporting, guiding close activities, and strengthening financial processes that support sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to accounting management, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to compliance and operational discipline.

Responsibilities:
• Direct core accounting activities across the organization, including ledger management, payables, receivables, payroll-related accounting, and project-based financial tracking.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles to deliver complete and reliable financial results on schedule.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with reporting standards.
• Establish, refine, and enforce accounting procedures and internal control measures that protect assets and reduce financial risk.
• Monitor daily financial transactions and resolve discrepancies to maintain clean records and dependable account balances.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights, support planning efforts, and improve visibility into business performance.
• Oversee accounting documentation and record retention practices to promote organized, audit-ready financial files.
• Support process improvements within the accounting function, including updates to workflows, controls, or systems when needed.
