Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a rental and leasing services organization in Midland, Texas. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, build strong customer relationships, and keep receivables activity organized and accurate. The role focuses on invoicing, collections, account follow-up, and day-to-day support of customer billing processes while learning company-specific systems provided on the job.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily accounts receivable activities, including preparing invoices, tracking outstanding balances, and maintaining accurate customer account records.

- Contact customers regarding past-due balances, resolve payment issues professionally, and support commercial collection efforts with a customer-focused approach.

- Apply incoming payments correctly and reconcile cash receipts to open invoices to help ensure account accuracy.

- Review billing details and invoice coding for completeness and accuracy before processing.

- Use Microsoft Excel and Adobe tools to organize receivable data, support reporting, and maintain documentation.

- Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to address account questions, payment status, and billing discrepancies.

- Monitor aging reports and follow up consistently to reduce overdue balances and improve collection results.

- Learn and use company-specific software to complete receivables tasks efficiently and support ongoing account administration. Requirements - Prior experience in accounts receivable with the ability to handle invoicing, payment posting, and account follow-up.

- Working knowledge of commercial collections and customer account management.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas for tracking and reconciliation.

- Experience applying cash receipts and maintaining accurate financial records.

- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills when working with clients on billing and collections matters.

- Ability to review invoice details carefully and process billing information with a high level of accuracy.

- Comfortable learning new software and adapting quickly in a fast-paced office environment.
