Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a transportation equipment manufacturing organization in Midland, Texas on a Contract basis. This 3-month assignment will support the accounting team with accurate invoice handling, timely payment activity, and dependable day-to-day accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, can manage a steady workload efficiently, and works well under tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:

- Review, code, and enter a high volume of vendor invoices with accuracy and consistency.

- Verify invoice details against supporting documentation to help ensure proper approval and payment processing.

- Prepare accounts payable transactions for timely disbursement while maintaining organized financial records.

- Work closely with the accounting team to resolve invoice discrepancies, missing information, and payment-related questions.

- Monitor due dates and prioritize workload to support on-time payments in a deadline-driven setting.

- Maintain clear documentation of payable activity and assist with routine reconciliation and reporting tasks. Requirements - Previous experience supporting accounts payable functions in a high-volume processing environment.

- Hands-on ability to code invoices accurately and enter payable data with strong attention to detail.

- Working knowledge of invoice processing procedures and standard accounting documentation.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

- Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with time-sensitive deadlines.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with accounting team members and vendors as needed.
