Seeking an Excavating Safety Field Supervisor. This is not a desk only safety role. If you’ve spent the last few years on active excavation job sites and you know what safety looks like in the field, this role is worth your time. A well-established excavation and site-work contractor is seeking a hands‑on Safety Specialist with 2?5 years of direct excavation experience who can help keep crews safe without slowing production.

• Field-focused role with real influence
• Work directly with Superintendents and Foremen
• Play a key role in strengthening a safety first excavation culture
• Be respected as a partner, not just a compliance checker

• Conduct jobsite safety inspections on active excavation and utility projects
• Identify hazards related to trenching, shoring, underground utilities, and heavy equipment
• Ensure compliance with OSHA excavation and trenching standards
• Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings crews actually engage with
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; implement corrective actions
• Partner with field leadership to balance safety and productivity
• Support safety training, documentation, and continuous improvement

• 2?5 years of safety experience specifically in excavation / heavy civil construction
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Trenching & excavation safety
  • Heavy equipment operations
• Comfortable being on job sites daily
• Clear, confident communicator with field crews and leadership
• OSHA 30 (or higher) strongly preferred

This role requires real excavation experience. General safety or manufacturing backgrounds without excavation exposure will not be a fit.
