ACCEL Schools is recruiting an Instructional Aide for Cornerstone Academy High School in Westerville, Ohio. Cornerstone Academy is an award‑winning, high‑performing charter school serving the Northeast Columbus community.

The Instructional Aide assists the teacher with classroom activities and helps to promote positive student behaviors in academics and extra‑curricular activities. The role ensures student safety and contributes to a positive school climate and aligns with ACCEL Schools’ philosophy and policies.

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups following instructional plans as assigned.
• Helps plan classroom activities as directed and supports the teacher in student and parent relations.
• Assists with school activities, including parent‑faculty nights, faculty meetings, assemblies, commencement exercises, fundraising, chaperoning student activities, guiding students, and participating on faculty committees.
• Performs clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the teacher with classroom technology.
• Maintains the cleanliness of classroom, lunchroom, and other school areas.
• Understands, accepts, abides by, and implements the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all activities.
• Other duties as assigned, such as field trips, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty.

• Works cooperatively with the teacher and other staff.
• Acts in accordance with directives from the administrator or teacher.
• Contributes to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards.

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or passing the paraprofessional exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check.
• Ability to meet applicable educational standards.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Understanding and ability to manage confidential information.
• High‑quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25‑40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $16.50/hour. The range may vary by geography, skill, education, experience, and other qualifications.
