ESP Applications Engineer – Endurance Lift Solutions
Summary of essential functions:
- Design, implement, and optimize Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) systems to meet production goals in various oil and gas operations.
- Collaborate with Sales Team to tailor ESP designs to well conditions, ensuring optimal production and extending system life.
- Assist Optimization Team with performance challenges by matching ESP designs to current operational data and identifying uplift opportunities through system resizing.
- Support Sales Team in preparing customer performance reviews by analyzing field-wide run‑life data, determining primary modes of failure, and generating recommendations for improvement.
- Develop the company’s ESP design software by working with internal and external stakeholders to enhance and expand features.
- Perform other duties as specified by supervisor and conduct related work as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience designing ESP systems for oil wells; shale oil well ESP design preferred.
- Advanced understanding of ESP technical aspects and equipment configurations, including mechanical and electrical components, field operations, and the DIFA process.
- Experience interpreting run‑life data and DIFA reports to generate recommendations for improving ESP run life.
- Ability to visit customers in field and office environments and present to customer groups.
- Knowledge of shale oil production challenges (preferred).
- Self‑motivated to achieve results with minimal supervision.
- Computer literate with intermediate MS Office skills; experience using ESP design software and monitoring platforms.
- Must stand for extended periods.
- Must sit, drive a vehicle (minimum 2–4 hours), and maneuver within a pump shop, warehouse, or well site.
- Must lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must safely mount/dismount from the back of a truck, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working.
- Must operate hand and mechanical tools (e.g., wrench).
- Must tolerate changing priorities and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
- Must respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must drive a one‑ton pickup truck.
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
Work is typically performed at an ELS location during normal or extended business hours, with additional time off‑site traveling to customer sites, oil well sites, and meeting venues as required.
