Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Test Manager to lead end-to-end environmental testing activities, with a primary focus on vibration and thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing for advanced aerospace hardware. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all test campaigns while driving technical excellence across the test organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and reporting of environmental test campaigns including vibration, thermal cycling, shock, and thermal vacuum testing.
- Manage and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance development.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, customer requirements, and industry standards such as MIL-STD-1540, MIL-STD-810, NASA GEVS, and related specifications.
- Oversee operation, maintenance, and readiness of environmental test facilities and equipment (shaker systems, TVAC chambers, instrumentation, DAQs).
- Partner with systems engineering, quality, and program teams to define test requirements, troubleshoot anomalies, and ensure test readiness.
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in test processes, documentation, equipment capability, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in environmental testing, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Hands‑on experience with vibration and thermal vacuum testing of aerospace or defense hardware.
- Strong understanding of environmental test standards and instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, DAQs).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance if required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or authorized to work in the United States.
Relevant Certifications (Highly Beneficial)
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)
- TTI Environmental Engineering Specialist Certificate
- ISO 17025 Familiarity or Lab Accreditation Experience
- MIL-STD & NASA Standards Training (810, 1540, NASA‑STD‑7002B)
- ITAR Compliance Training
- Optional: PMP, Six Sigma/Lean, LabVIEW or Data Acquisition System Certification
