Plant Corrosion Engineer - Relocate to Saudi Arabia, Permanent Expat Relocation Package
We are seeking a Plant Corrosion Engineer to join the Riyas Engineering Division (RNGLFD) which is part of the Riyas NGL Fractionation Dept. This role requires full relocation to Saudi Arabia and is a permanent, full‑time, expatriate position with a relocation package.
Job OverviewRNGLFD is responsible for two trains, each designed to process 255 MBOD (242.25 MBCD). Each train includes fractionation units, C3 & C4 treatment, C3 & C4 dehydration, and propane refrigeration. Common facilities cover feed and product surge storage, chemicals storage, utilities (steam, condensate recovery, utility water, plant, instrument air, nitrogen, machinery cooling water, drainage, and flare systems). Some systems—such as steam headers, flare headers, and product storage—have been pre‑invested for a future train.
Your primary role will be to implement, support, and continually improve RNGLFP inspection corrosion management programs and provide consultative advice in materials, ensuring cost‑effective material selection and corrosion mitigation strategies that maintain mechanical integrity across all plant assets—including equipment and piping throughout their life cycle.
Key Responsibilities- Implement corrosion management program, on‑stream monitoring, and risk‑based inspection based on API‑580 methodology.
- Review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures, cathodic protection, and participate in HAZOP review sessions, ensuring all issues are addressed.
- Manage water treatment program, recommend solutions to overcome challenges, review design packages, and validate material selection based on current codes and standards.
- Validate corrosion controls (CCD), corrosion loops, and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
- Assess FEED composition changes and approve recommended solutions to assure asset integrity.
- Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field implementation.
- Transfer knowledge on coating use, cathodic protection, corrosion inhibitors, and best practices.
- Extract data, draw conclusions from corrosion monitoring technologies, troubleshoot corrosion problems, and address root causes.
- Regularly review and update plant Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) and corrosion loop drawings to reflect emerging or removed damage mechanisms and plant upgrades.
- Adjust inspection practices and programs, perform special studies in corrosion control, and evaluate data for scope, impact, and long‑range cost effectiveness on existing and new projects.
- Review operations and monitoring activities to identify needed system or procedural modifications for corrosion control, conduct mitigation and integrity reviews to optimize inspection and corrosion programs, and maintain asset integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical.
- 15 years’ experience in the oil/gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience in material science and metrology, various NDT technologies and their applications, and knowledge of welding engineering aspects.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and codes—NACE, ASME, API, ASTM—especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API‑571, API‑580, API‑570, and API‑510.
- Valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist, or a combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API‑571, and NACE CP Level II.
