Radiologic Technologist (Up to $45,000 Bonus)
The RT(R), with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, and the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The RT(R) functions under their license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of practice.
The RT(R) demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in practice and develops insight through reflection, self‑analysis, self‑care, and lifelong learning.
Full‑time, Monday – Thursday 8:30 pm to 7:00 am
Essential Functions / Performance Expectations- Practices technology founded upon theoretical knowledge and concepts, using equipment and accessories consistent with their intended purposes, and employs procedures and techniques appropriately.
- Assesses situations; exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility for professional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the patient.
- Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.
- Uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Understands and participates in the Radiology Career Ladder program, which outlines the process for evaluating employee performance, maintaining current levels, and advancing or adjusting levels based on meeting minimum job-level requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology or trained in a hospital-based program that is AMA approved.
- ARRT registered or eligible – ARRT certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Texas Medical Board license for Radiologic Technologists or actively in process of obtaining one.
- Completion of initial and annual Continuing
Education:
1.5 hours per required period.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non‑clinical staff.
The individual must use an assisted‑lift device or obtain assistance when lifting over these maximum limits.
Bonus up to $45,000 for new hires only. Candidates must have a minimum of two years experience. Not eligible for current employees or returning employees within one year of separation. Bonus is not eligible if hired through a staffing agency or if sponsorship is required.
