Position: Diabetes Educator (Dietitian)

Overview

The Educator Diabetes (Dietitian) is responsible for providing nutrition assessments and care planning for patients with a focus on Whole Food Plant Based. The Clinical Dietitian implements business practices in order to uphold Lifestyle Medicine and Midland Health’s mission and core values and contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of nutrition services. The clinical Dietitian will play a key role in the Lifestyle Medicine programs.

Schedule

Full Time

Monday - Friday

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Essential Functions / Performance Expectations
  • Conducts nutrition assessments for patients at high, moderate, and low risk, and patients requiring artificial nutrition support.
  • Implementation and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapy interventions.
  • Patient education regarding therapeutic diets and home nutrition support regimens.
  • Participate in the Lifestyle Medicine Programs, including but not limited to CHIP, Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation nutrition education.
  • Attends and participates in all interdisciplinary meetings as scheduled.
  • Aids in ensuring patient satisfaction levels are always met.
  • Follows all HIPAA policies.
Education and Experience
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition or related field.
  • Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible (must show proof of completion of internship).
  • Must be licensed in the State of Texas.
  • No experience required.

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
