Job DescriptionThe RT, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies. The RT works under their own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and families. They demonstrate responsibility for continued competence in practice and lifelong learning.
Shift& Schedule
Fulltime, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Essential Functions / Performance Expectations- Practice technology based on theoretical knowledge, use equipment and accessories appropriately, and follow procedures.
- Assess situations, exercise judgment, and act in the best interest of the patient.
- Act as an agent to obtain information for the physician, acknowledging that diagnosis is outside the scope of practice.
- Use equipment and techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others.
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program or trained in an AMA-approved hospital‑based program.
- ARRT registered or eligible – ARRT must be obtained within 6 months.
- Texas Medical Board license for Radiologic Technologists or in process of obtaining.
- Minimum of 2 years experience for new hires.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear. Lifting limited to 35 lb for clinical staff and 50 lb for non‑clinical staff; use assistance or devices for heavier lifts.
Bonus and EligibilityEligibility for up to $45,000 bonus applies only to new hires, not current or returning employees within one year of separation, not via staffing agency, and not requiring sponsorship.
