Description:

Start date within the next 3-5 weeks. 3-4 weekend shifts per contract. Texas state license required. 24 weeks preferred, may consider a minimum of 13 weeks. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 200. Experience with assessment of fluid status and dietary guidelines is necessary. Knowledge of food-drug interactions and nutrient deficiencies is important. Candidates should be familiar with nutrition assessments and reassessments.

Skills in Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and management of nutrition therapy complications are required. Understanding of protein-calorie malnutrition and refeeding syndrome is essential. Experience in short-term acute care and therapeutic diet orders is preferred. Familiarity with Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) is required. Candidates must be ready to work some holidays. An on-site drug screen will be conducted, failure will result in cancellation or assignment.

Cerner charting experience is preferred.
