Materials Manager

Responsibilities:

• 1. Manage and oversee the company's inventory, ensuring optimal levels are maintained at all times.
• 2. Develop, implement, and monitor demand planning processes to forecast future inventory needs accurately.
• 3. Direct and coordinate the purchasing of materials, goods, and services, ensuring the best quality at the most cost-effective prices.
• 4. Collaborate with various departments to understand their material needs and ensure these are met in a timely and efficient manner.
• 5. Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement in the materials management process.
• 6. Implement and enforce policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
• 7. Prepare and present regular reports on inventory levels, purchasing activities, and demand planning forecasts to senior management.
• 8. Continuously identify and implement strategies for cost reduction and process improvement in materials management.

Qualifications:

• 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the steel fabrication / heavy manufacturing industry.
• 3. Proven experience in materials management, demand planning, inventory management, and purchasing.
• 4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and produce meaningful insights.
• 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
• 6. Proficiency in using accounting and inventory management software.
• 7. Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• 8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
