Production Operator I
Position:
Production Operator I at Locus Fermentation Solutions, a USA‑based biotech company delivering bio‑based solutions across oil & gas, mining, agriculture, and industrial/CPG markets. We specialize in high‑performance intermediary formulations and glycolipids.
Location:
Midland, TX
Position is responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities of fermentation production operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare reactors for fermentation including loading raw materials, setting parameters, testing equipment functionality, and inoculation of culture.
- Operate PLC to gather data and set temperature, pH, and other parameters.
- Prepare scheduled samples for testing and analysis by quality control.
- Clean and sterilize equipment, reactors, and all parts utilized in production.
- Maintain warehouse area and ensure high level of cleanliness and organization of materials.
- Perform routine maintenance on reactors, tanks, pumps, and other production equipment.
- Wear required PPE while carrying out position responsibilities.
- Follow SOP’s and protocols to maintain product quality.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge or experience in fermentation, or microbiology preferred.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance preferred.
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Ability to identify problems and execute standard procedures.
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook efficiently.
- Move through the warehouse 60% of time and remain stationary 40% of time.
- Wear and properly utilize required PPE including hard hats, steel‑toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection.
- May require occasional lifting or carrying of materials or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional use of computer, phone, copier, and other office equipment.
- Consistently positioned to maintain equipment in the warehouse and progress production cycles.
- Work in a temperature‑controlled warehouse environment.
- Exposure to loud machinery, heavy equipment, operational hazards.
- Adaptability to dynamic environment with competing priorities and high‑level business engagement.
