Texas Surgical Center is seeking a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse. No call, no holidays, no weekends.
Ideal candidate will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. Position requires weekdays only – no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.
Position Responsibilities- Determine data collection based on the patient’s condition or needs as related to the proposed interventions.
- Address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs/responses of the patient.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change.
- Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude.
- Work is accurate and complete.
- Demonstrate knowledge and follow AORN standards.
- Function as a team member.
- Complete initial and annual competencies as required.
- Maintain licenses and certifications.
- Adhere to dress code, attendance punctuality, meal break and rest periods.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Attend required department meetings.
- Assume responsibility for continuing education requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Texas nursing license.
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
- Experience in surgery in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
- Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
- Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
- Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
- Excellent teaching skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees (teamwork).
- Strong customer service skills.
- Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change.
- Possess basic knowledge of performance improvement ideology.
