Texas Surgical Center is seeking a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse. No call, no holidays, no weekends.

Ideal candidate will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies and work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. Position requires weekdays only – no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.

Position Responsibilities
  • Determine data collection based on the patient’s condition or needs as related to the proposed interventions.
  • Address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs/responses of the patient.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change.
  • Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude.
  • Work is accurate and complete.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and follow AORN standards.
  • Function as a team member.
  • Complete initial and annual competencies as required.
  • Maintain licenses and certifications.
  • Adhere to dress code, attendance punctuality, meal break and rest periods.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Attend required department meetings.
  • Assume responsibility for continuing education requirements.
Required Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Texas nursing license.
  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
  • Experience in surgery in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
  • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees (teamwork).
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change.
  • Possess basic knowledge of performance improvement ideology.
