Job Description
Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for adult and pediatric patients. Responsible for promoting positive interactions with staff, physicians, patients, families, and visitors.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time
Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM & Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Maintains current knowledge of medications and administers medications according to hospital policy.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members, including education and professional communication skills.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records, providing accurate, timely, and complete documentation of care plans and assessments, respecting patient rights and confidentiality.
- Provides a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, including proper hand hygiene and infection control adherence.
- Demonstrates professionalism by maintaining current AED certification, following dress code policies, and participating in orientation of new team members.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Participates in ongoing learning; plans to advance education are preferred.
- Holds a current Texas Vocational Nurse license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform essential responsibilities satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities. The individual must be able to:
• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs for clinical staff and 50 lbs for non-clinical staff. Assistance or assistive devices should be used for lifts exceeding these limits.
