Travel RN - PACU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a Level III trauma center requiring pediatric recovery experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience preferred, covering all surgeries except cardiac
• Pediatric PACU experience required
• Critical care experience strongly preferred
• Level II trauma center experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• First-time travelers with strong experience may be considered

• Work in the Phase I and Pediatric PACU of a Level III Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday (5x8 hours, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM)
• Call required
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op
• Recovers patients from ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and ENT surgeries (adults and pediatrics)
• Monitors patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a wide range of surgical cases including ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and ENT procedures
• Manage patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
• RTO must be submitted in advance and some holiday coverage is expected
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts an onsite drug screen including marijuana testing upon arrival
