Summary

The Asset Protection Officer is responsible for securing all of The United Family’s assets while providing a safe work environment for our team members and a safe shopping environment for our guests. He/She will perform duties including apprehending and deterring shoplifters, monitoring store shrink, safety checks, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage guests entering the area or department.
• Take proactive measures to minimize loss from all sources in the store.
• Follow corporate guidelines and applicable state laws; apprehend guests or team members who commit theft.
• Follow daily work schedules as assigned by the Asset Protection Manager.
• Conduct surveillance and investigations as directed by Asset Protection Management.
• Coordinate with Asset Protection management on shrink reduction programs.
• Perform operational audits, safety checks, and walks at the store level.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Commissioned law enforcement officer preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical duties including bending, standing, lifting, squatting, climbing, walking, and running.
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.
• Ability to function well under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Ability to learn and operate various computer software and electronic tools.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
