Job Description

The Director of Sales-Select Service oversees sales and marketing operations for a Select Service hotel. Responsibilities include achieving occupancy and ADR growth, managing the sales department, and developing business plans within budget. The role requires working as much as necessary to fulfill job duties, including potential overtime for OEM associates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree with 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with 2 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills for negotiation and influence.
  • Professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic vision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and solve complex problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles.
  • Ability to perform under stress and understand financial data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate sales efforts to maximize revenue.
  • Manage the annual budget, marketing, and sales plans.
  • Conduct outside sales calls and entertain clients.
  • Negotiate contract terms.
  • Develop market awareness and predict revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor top accounts and market trends.
  • Adhere to company regulations and standards.
  • Achieve individual and team goals.
  • Train hotel staff on sales opportunities.
  • Understand hotel operations and policies.
  • Maintain visibility in the community and industry.
  • Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel weekly as required.
  • Represent the General Manager in their absence.
