Overview
RIG SUPERVISOR - MIDLAND, TX. The Rig Supervisor will help assigned crews into the field at the start of the workday. This includes finding crew-hands for short-handed crews, handing out supplies, confirming each employee is fit for duty, and ensuring all required PPE. All duties are to be performed according to standard operating procedures to maximize safety and efficiently complete tasks.

- Assist and supervise crews, including problem solving, employee performance management and training
- Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed and safety is the top priority
- Complete rig tickets with accuracy
- Communicate with the customer’s representative onsite to determine needs and services at the location
- Maintain location cleanliness, including Company trucks and dog houses
- Track inventory on location; coordinate with Safety or Management to obtain additional items when low
- Report all accidents immediately and cooperate with involved employees for follow-up as directed by HSE
- Exercise stop-work authority when necessary
- Set up and take down locations properly; ensure correct equipment setup
- Coordinate and/or perform ongoing preventative maintenance and repair of equipment
- Keep all company-owned equipment clean and in working order
- Supervise rig-ups and subsequent operations across locations
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all employees
- Identify problems and propose improvements to senior management
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment
- Comply with Forti Safe training programs
- Rig up and rig down mud pumps properly
- Ensure compliance with all safety practices for equipment including rigs, pumps, power swivels, catwalks, vehicles, etc.
- Submit paperwork accurately, completely and on time
- Manage yard procedures when pumps come in/out of Fortis yard
- Train employees on equipment (rig, pump, swivel, catwalk, etc.)
- Work with Regional/Operations Manager to ensure equipment maintenance per Fortis PM specs
- Check in/out all necessary equipment for the job
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Workover rig experience required
- Ability to work in varied and challenging weather conditions
- Experience and comfort working at heights
- Customer service oriented; can-do attitude
- Strong oral and written communication
- Must comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Safeland/PEC
- Valid driver’s license
- CDL
- OSHA 10
- Well Control School
- H2S, Forklift/Manlift, CPR/First Aid
- Any other heavy equipment licenses or certifications
Amount of time per day:
Standing 60%, Walking 30%, Sitting 10%;
Employee works 90% outside and 10% inside.
While Performing Job: lifting/carrying 0-100 lbs 2-3 times/hour; pulling/pushing 0-75 lbs 2-3 times/hour; squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders/stairs 8-10 hours/day as applicable.
Safety and Working ConditionsExposure to chemicals, gases, cold, heat, dampness, noise, dust, radiation, heights (0-110’), fumes, winds, ice.
Safety equipment to be worn includes goggles/face shields/safety glasses, hard hats, safety belts, ear plugs, steel-toed boots, Tyvek suits, SCBA, gloves, H2S monitors, fall protection, FR clothing.
Other Requirements- Valid driver’s license highly preferred
