HVAC Technician

Reports to: Field Superintendent

Supervisory Responsibility: None

The HVAC Technician serves primarily as the designated authority to repair and inspect Water Fleet's HVAC related equipment.

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration units.
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, replacing or repairing defective components as needed.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Provide detailed service reports and documentation for each job.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, solutions, and maintenance recommendations.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and equipment.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs as needed.
• Assist with general field work when A/C work is not available.
• Assist with moving field equipment when A/C work is not available.
• Assist with special projects in the field when A/C work is not available.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Grad; or GED
• 3 of years of experience
• Must possess a state issued HVAC license or equivalent
• Must possess EPA certification for handling refrigerants.
• Valid US driver's license and strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations in previous 3 years).
• Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration within and between department(s).

• Proven experience as an HVAC technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and endure various weather conditions.
