Job SummaryPlans, directs, and supervises the work of volunteers, community service clients, and assigned staff. Assists residents staying in the Corps shelter overnight and during the day; performs client intake procedures and prepares records. Monitors resident activity during assigned shifts, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with house rules. Maintains accurate records including HMIS logs. Ensures the facility is kept neat and in proper order.

This description outlines the essential functions and requirements of this position. The incumbent may be requested to perform other job‑related responsibilities and tasks.
Responsibilities- Supervisory Responsibilities (30%) – Plan, direct, and supervise volunteers, community service workers, and staff; train and instruct employees; monitor work progress; conduct performance evaluations; recommend hiring/firing decisions.
- Housekeeping and Food Inventory Responsibilities (30%) – Assign daily cooking, cleaning, and maintenance tasks; participate in facility cleaning; inspect facility for compliance; account for Salvation Army property; approve food purchases; monitor expenditures; maintain inventory records; coordinate with Montgomery County Food Bank.
- Client Intake and Security Responsibilities (25%) – Answer phone calls; perform client intake procedures, including sexual offender checks; manage HMIS case records; monitor client money; lock doors; disarm alarms; conduct facility checks; provide social services support; refer clients for counseling and community services.
- Program Responsibilities (15%) – Lead Celebrate Recovery programs based on Biblical principles; organize and connect volunteers to small step groups; network with rehabilitation centers; recruit volunteer drivers for client transport.
- Other Responsibilities – Serve on the corps leadership team; refer clients to Ann Place agency; coordinate HMIS training; represent corps as EDS coordinator; complete FEMA disaster training; perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Two years of security or social services work in a shelter or similar environment with at least one year of supervisory experience, or equivalent training/experience.
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Food Handlers Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
- Basic First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to perform data entry into a computer.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly; knowledge of emergency services contacts.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Work is performed in a residential facility with minimal physical discomfort related to weather or noise. Safety and cleanliness are maintained through regular inspections.
