The Process Maintenance Technician reports to the Shift Supervisor and will work on day shift. This person is expected to work with little or no supervision while performing maintenance on equipment necessary for the manufacturing of cement.
Essential Functions- Inspect plant process machinery and provide recommendations for repair
- Install & repair plant process machinery
- Operate equipment such as boom lifts, cranes, forklifts, and other related mobile equipment
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in the maintenance of heavy process machinery, in the cement industry, is preferred
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
- Ability to read & understand operations and maintenance manuals, drawings, and schematics
- Prioritize personal and others' safety
- Utilize various measuring devices (micrometers, square, level, etc.)
- Competence in shielded arc welding & flame cutting
- Read gauges & keep accurate records of operations and maintenance
- Pass required physical examination and drug screens
- Knowledge of equipment used in cement manufacturing
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to repair and rebuild plant equipment independently
- Knowledge of MSHA standards and requirements
- Awareness of hazards related to the role
The Maintenance Technician must work in all weather conditions and environments, exposed to vibrating equipment and hazards. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
