Responsibilities
- Anticipate customer flow and work demand and redirect efforts and schedules to ensure proper coverage when and where needed.
- Plan for spikes in sales and ensure the store has the in‑stock position to support demand.
- Conduct safety walks, monitor use of store power equipment, and coach associates around safe work practices.
- Lead a team of associates to provide exceptional service while shopping in a clean, safe, well‑stocked store.
- Accountable for achieving sales and margin goals while driving operational efficiencies and maximizing overall customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with peers on the store leadership team, District Manager, and Area support staff to assess needs and develop service, sales, and operational objectives.
- May provide full leadership over the store and rotate through merchandising and operations assignments for cross‑training and development.
- Travel may be required on occasion for meetings, training, or support of neighboring stores.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
- 3 years of experience working in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional work environment.
- 1 year of experience performing manager‑on‑duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes within and beyond assigned areas of responsibility.
- 1 year of experience directly managing sales associates (commissioned or non‑commissioned) in retail or related sales industry.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5 years of experience directly managing a team of sales associates in retail or related sales industry.
- Experience working in the home improvement retail sector.
- Broad knowledge of interior/exterior product categories (e.g., flooring, cabinets, millwork, building materials, appliances, home décor, lighting, plumbing).
- Experience with store computer systems (Project Tool, Genesis, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).
Salary range: $94,500.00 – $ (Dallas, TX). Additional salary ranges may apply ($60,000.00 – $65,000.00, etc.). Role is scheduled for 48 hours; requires availability any day of the week. Travel may be required on occasion for meetings, training, or support of neighboring stores.
