Ross Stores, Inc. invites candidates to apply for the Area Supervisor role. As a member of Store Leadership, the Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific area of the store, opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly, easy to shop environment, and executing Company operational processes.

The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for opening and closing the store, supervising associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy to shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.

• Maintain a safe and secure environment by practicing safe behaviors, correcting unsafe conditions, and protecting building security.
• Provide excellent customer service by treating all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect and demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
• Represent and support the Company brand by maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring associates adhere to the Company Dress Code, and keeping store areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
• Execute merchandising duties, including receiving merchandise, processing all merchandise with urgency, managing stockroom organization, and ensuring compliance with presentation guidelines.
• Apply loss prevention best practices, monitor the public view monitor system, and conduct package inspections to safeguard merchandise and associate information.
• Supervise front end operations, train associates on cash register procedures, manage break schedules, and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Maintain fitting room cleanliness and compliance with tagging and security requirements.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll administration, and other store operations.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills common in retail.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

• Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
• Stand, walk, and move about the store up to 100% of working time.
• Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
• Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
• Co‑stockroom shift applicants must regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 lbs.
