We regulate financial services firms in the UK, to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. By joining us, you’ll play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth and shaping the future of financial services in the UK.  SPC oversees firms and individuals (supervision), creates and reviews the rules by which they operate (policy) and identifies and remedies ineffective competition in markets (competition).

The Cryptoassets and Technology Policy Team leads the development of the FCA’s policy solutions on cryptoassets.

As digital technology and cryptoassets market develop and evolve, regulators need to innovate and adapt our regulatory framework to deal with new and evolving opportunities and risks.  We are designing a more comprehensive regulatory framework for cryptoassets to help shape the future of this diverse, fast-paced and ever-changing sector.

Cryptoassets and associated activities are due to be phased into the FCA’s perimeter.  Our work includes the development, consultation and implementation of cryptoasset policy for retail consumers.

You will be a key member of the team, shaping creative and evidence-based policy solutions that benefit consumers, markets and competition. Role responsibilities

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will own key cryptoasset policy issues by taking the lead in shaping proposals, reviewing information and collaborating with teams across the FCAYou will drive impactful change by drafting public consultations on FCA rules and guidance, ensuring our priorities influence industry and regulatory developments

Engage with stakeholders by building strong relationships with government, other regulators and industry participants to help shape the future of cryptoasset and related technology policy

You will provide insight by delivering advice and briefings on cryptoasset and related technology policy issues to colleagues and senior management, shaping strategic outcomes

You will grow your expertise on cryptoasset and related technology regulations that affect every aspect of consumer and business financial lives

You will be part of transformation by playing a key role in a major regulatory change project, supporting the team and contributing to innovative solutions in an evolving policy landscape

Skills required

Minimum:

Prior experience of policy analysis and development

Prior experience presenting key issues clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing with public and private sector audience

Prior experience of building and managing relationships with stakeholders

Essential:

Experience of analysing information and contributing to the development of policy

Evidence of problem solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a variety of competing priorities and issues

Good stakeholder management, with the ability to build a network across and beyond the organisation

Willingness to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible and pragmatic approach to work Benefits
