About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Midlothian Newbyres is a 154 place nursery offering two settings located just across the road from one another;
Newbyres Hall welcomes children under 3 and St Paul's for all children 3‑5 years old. Situated in the centre of Gorebridge village, our nursery is very convenient for families and staff who would like to make use of excellent public transport links, including the new Borders Railway which is just a minute’s walk away. There is also a public, free‑of‑charge car park to the rear of the nursery.

What

to Expect as a Nursery Practitioner
  • Create a Safe, Stimulating Environment:
    Prepare materials and arrange rooms to encourage children's growth and learning.
  • Lead Educational

    Activities:

    Plan and deliver activities that support children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development, aligned with the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition.
  • Key Person Role:
    Oversee children’s development, care needs, and build strong family connections.
What We’re Looking For
  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education.
  • Proven experience in working with children under 5 and a genuine interest in early childhood education.
  • Skills:

    Good communication capable or, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to apply knowledge of child development to plan and deliver activities.
