We’re looking for an Urban Drainage Modeller to join our growing Scottish team in Edinburgh or Glasgow , becoming part of a wider community of modelling specialists delivering work across major UK water programmes.

ABOUT
THE ROLE You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, applying your urban drainage modelling expertise across a variety of wastewater and drainage projects, from investigation and assessment through to developing solutions and supporting delivery.
You will:
Develop, verify and maintain hydraulic models using Info Works ICM .Undertake urban drainage and wastewater modelling studies to support client investment, operational and asset management decisions.
Work across projects involving storm overflows, water quality, network performance, urban pollution and flood risk.
Interpret modelling outputs and develop clear technical recommendations for clients and project teams.
Contribute to innovative modelling approaches, digital solutions and improvements to technical processes and ways of working.
Collaborate with engineers, modellers, environmental specialists, clients and consultant/contractor partners.
Support the delivery of projects across Scottish and wider UK water company programmes.
Take responsibility for delivering defined modelling tasks and technical work packages to agreed quality, programme and budget requirements.
You’ll be part of a wider UDM community of around 175 specialists across the UK and internationally, providing opportunities to share knowledge, collaborate with experienced practitioners and contribute to innovative, industry-leading modelling work.
YOUR IMPACTThe modelling you deliver will help water companies better understand the performance of their wastewater networks and make informed decisions about future investment and operational priorities. Your work will support improvements in water quality, pollution reduction, flood risk management and the long-term resilience of Scotland’s water infrastructure.
From investigating network behaviour and identifying system constraints to developing solutions for storm overflows and wider wastewater challenges, you’ll contribute directly to projects that can make a tangible difference to the environment and the communities that rely on these essential services.
Working from Edinburgh or Glasgow , you’ll also collaborate with colleagues across Scotland, the wider UK and internationally, gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects and technical expertise.
ABOUT YOU Essential
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or another relevant discipline.
Experience working in an urban drainage, wastewater or hydraulic modelling environment.
Proficiency in Info Works ICM .Good understanding of hydraulic modelling principles and their application within the water sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate modelling outputs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presenting information to clients and colleagues.
Ability to manage your own technical workload and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Desirable Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.
Membership of a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIWEM.Experience working with…
