About this opportunity
We’re changing how Talent Acquisition works at Lloyds Banking Group, creating a model that is closer to our businesses, better connected to the market and increasingly ahead of talent needs. As Hiring Lead, you’ll head the recruiting team supporting Business & Commercial Banking, Corporate & Institutional Banking, and Insurance, Pensions & Investments. This is a significant portfolio spanning several businesses and some of the most competitive talent markets in financial services.
You’ll set the direction, strengthen our recruiting capability and help us deliver better hiring outcomes for our businesses and candidates.
What you’ll be doing
Get ahead of demand:
We want the team involved earlier, understanding where the businesses are going, the capabilities they will need and the talent populations that matter most.
You will lead and mentor the team to turn those priorities into clear talent plans and get ahead of forecasts. Working closely with Sourcing & Research, you will build market knowledge, direct candidate sourcing and pipelines for critical talent.
Raise the recruiter bar:
We want recruiters who bring more than excellent process management. They should understand the roles and markets they cover, assess talent credibly, use data well and have the judgement to challenge when there is a better answer.
You will set that standard, coach the team and create the accountability to deliver it consistently. At times, you will step into a critical search or important talent conversation yourself, not to become the chief recruiter, but to show what great looks like and strengthen the capability around you.
You will also make deliberate choices about capacity, focusing recruiting resource where it can have the greatest impact. Clear direction. Real accountability. Space for good people to lead.
Find the best talent, wherever it sits:
The external market matters, but so does the talent already inside LBG. Your team should be equally curious about both.
You will strengthen how we identify and move internal talent while continuing to grow direct external sourcing and relationships with people we may want to hire in the future.
Why join us?
If you think all banks are the same, you’re wrong. We’re a pioneering, fast-changing business that’s shaping finance as a force for good. If you’re after a role where you can have an impact and do the best work of your career, you’ve just found it.
What we’re looking for Essential requirements
Significant experience leading and developing high-performing Talent Acquisition or recruiting teams within a large, complex organisation.
Expertise in partnering with senior business leaders and influencing decisions through market intelligence, commercial judgement and constructive challenge.
Substantial experience moving recruiting towards a proactive, market-led model, including direct sourcing and the development of talent pipelines.
Demonstrable experience raising recruiter capability, ownership and accountability while successfully leading people through meaningful change.
Strong recruiting expertise, with evidence of using data, technology and human judgement to improve hiring outcomes and candidate and hiring manager experience. Desirable skills and experience
Talent Acquisition experience within banking, markets, commercial banking, wealth, insurance or a closely related financial services sector.
Experience identifying and mobilising internal talent alongside building external talent relationships.
