We are currently seeking a dedicated locum physician to provide essential coverage in Gastroenterology at a prominent medical center in Midlothian, Virginia. This practice is well-equipped with lab and X-ray facilities onsite, allowing you to deliver top-notch care to adult patients in both hospital and clinic settings. Located in a beautiful city that blends suburban convenience with access to outdoor activities, it's the perfect place to make a difference in patient lives while enjoying a vibrant community.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide weekend coverage on hospital call (Saturday and Sunday).
- Perform a variety of procedures including:
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Small Bowel Biopsy
- Lower GI Endoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Liver Biopsy
- Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Upper GI Endoscopy including Biopsy, ERCP, and PEG
- Average of 8 procedures per weekend.
- Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation.
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology REQUIRED
- Active Virginia medical license REQUIRED
- Flu shot documentation REQUIRED
- COVID vaccine preferred HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Ability to cover open shifts REQUIRED
- Clean malpractice history for temporary privileges REQUIRED
- ERCP certification REQUIRED
- EUS certification preferred
- Minimum $2.6M malpractice coverage as per Virginia medical malpractice regulations REQUIRED
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days at the time of presentation REQUIRED
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active Virginia medical license
- Flu shot documentation
- COVID vaccine preferred
