Radiologic Technologist - Imaging - St. Francis Medical Center

Bon Secours is seeking a Radiologic Technologist - Imaging ncis Medical Center. The role involves applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging using ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology, under the direction of an authorized user.

• Obtain patient clinical history and applicable lab work; document information for use by a licensed practitioner.
• Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient comfort and ability.
• Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and related accessories.
• Verify informed consent and complete pre- and post-procedure documentation.
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures; apply aseptic technique as needed.
• Perform timeout as required by policy.
• Identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Receive and document verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient’s medical record.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and document patient dose exposures.
• Interact professionally with physicians, technologists, hospital staff, patients and families.
• Operate radiographic equipment in accordance with ALARA principles.

• Education:
  
  Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred).
• Certification: ARRT certification and registration (required).
• Licensure:
  State licensure (preferred, unless required by the state).
• Credentialing and training: BLS from American Heart Association (required at hire for certain locations; preferred or required prior to independent patient care depending on site).
• Experience:
  
  1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
• Technical: EPIC EHR (preferred); PACS (preferred).
• Skills: patient-centered care, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and ability to perform shift work and patient handling as needed.

• Working conditions may include periods of high stress, exposure to noise, light, hazardous substances, body fluids, and moving mechanical parts; may require travel to off-site locations.
• Physical requirements include lifting/carrying, push/pull, stooping, standing, and walking; ability to work with neonates through geriatrics as applicable to the role.
