Hem​/Onc Clinic RN - South Dallas​/Midlothian, Tx

Overview

The Hem/Onc Clinic RN is a full‑time, Monday to Friday position (8:30 am–5:00 pm) located in South Dallas/Midlothian, TX. This role supports the Texas Oncology community oncology program, which serves approximately 600+ providers in over 220 sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Under general supervision, the RN delivers professional nursing care that meets national and company standards, incorporates physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, and participates in quality initiatives. The RN supports the U.S. Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assesses health status by interviewing patients about current status and medical history.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitates clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and records the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitates and schedules consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
  • Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related to patient care.
  • Assists patients in locating available community resources.
• Interprofessional collaboration.
  • Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

The role requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and standing/walking for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 40 lb. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required.
