The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards. The primary function of this job is to be available and flexible to float to various departments and sites throughout the markets within the organization, providing patient care, scheduling shifts, and supporting seasonal staffing patterns. The RN works under the direction of a clinical manager or designee, following the standards and scope of practice for the Registered Nurse.
EssentialFunctions
- Float within a single site based on competency (Tier
1). - Float within multiple sites within a single market based on competency (Tier
2). - Float within multiple sites across more than one market based on competency (Tier
3). - Support organizational departmental and operating unit goals through continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
- Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing quality improvement.
- Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
- Plan and coordinate nursing care and clinical decisions using the best available evidence.
- Formulate and implement a plan of care for each patient, including interventions, evaluation of responses, and appropriate documentation.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- Current nursing license in the designated state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS – AHA) – required based on specialty assignment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care (required).
- Medical equipment knowledge.
- Proficiency in clinical skills.
- Principles and practices of professional nursing.
