Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep
Overview
Store Environment team member at Michaels Stores – Richmond, VA. Maintain a high standard of store appearance, cleanliness and recovery to deliver our brand promises. Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop, and locate products.
Responsibilities- Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
- Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
- Move equipment and products for cleaning and return them to correct placement.
- CLEAN assigned areas with the appropriate materials and equipment.
- Prepare cleaning solutions as needed (may require mixing water and detergents).
- Deep clean key areas of the store (bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, high-traffic areas) to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
- Keep cleaning equipment neat; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
- Identify areas in need of cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
- Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor; perform tasks in compliance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
- Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers in line with the organization’s vision and values.
- Project a positive image and be a role model for other team members.
- Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and ensure cash handling is to standard.
- Engage customers on rewards programs and private label credit cards; complete enrollments.
- Assist with Omni channel processes (Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store).
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
- Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods; move throughout the store; regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching and stretching.
- Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
- Some environments may include climate-controlled public areas; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks; frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press; night, weekend, and early morning hours may apply.
- Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.
