Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

A Brief Overview

We are an auto glass company focused on delivering quality glass repair, replacement and recalibrations. This role will train you to become a Safelite certified Technician, embodying a can‑do attitude and a service mindset.

• Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training.
• Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, trouble‑shoot and complete diagnostic testing.
• Provide additional services & products.
• Study and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools and chemicals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24.00/hour after training and certification.
• Earn $5/set of wiper blades when added for customer safety.

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (Preferred).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license; other licenses as required to operate a company vehicle.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws and be monitored via in‑cab safety camera/video surveillance technology.
• Maintain professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service.
• Work safely outside in a range of weather conditions for extended periods.
• Work with chemicals, as applicable per the “Safelite Way of Fitting.”
• Work scheduled days with flexibility to accommodate customer needs.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and trouble‑shoot issues.
• Problem‑solve independently and collaboratively.
• Read, write and interpret English language and technical directions.
• Communicate orally (phone) and written (computer or other electronic means).
• Maintain professional appearance, adhering to dress code and PPE policies.
• Maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure or opposition.
