Junior Technical Designer; AV Technologies

Audiosure is looking for a creative, technically minded and detail-oriented Junior Technical Designer to support the Technical Pre-Sales and Design function. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has an interest in CAD, 3D design, lighting, architecture, AV technology or technical drawing and wants to develop their skills within the professional AV industry. The role will involve working closely with the Audiosure Projects team, supporting the wider Audiosure team in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

• Assist with 2D/3D drawings for audio, lighting and AV projects.
• Create and update basic wiring diagrams, signal-flow and schematics.
• Assist in preparing drawing packs and basic creation of Bill of materials.
• Convert architectural plans, PDFs and mark-ups into accurate CAD/Sketchup drawings.
• Assist with site visits and measurements, gathering information from clients and Account Managers.
• Develop knowledge of professional audio, lighting, AV, control systems, trussing, signal flow and a understanding of Audiosure's various brands and products.
• Work closely with the Projects team and the wider sales and install teams.
• Willing to learn and grow.

• Experience in design and rendering.
• Basic AutoCAD / CAD experience.
• Some exposure to the AV, corporate, events, installation or technical environment.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop within the AV industry.

• 1-2 years experience in CAD, technical design, AV, events or a related field.
• Experience with wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Experience reading architectural plans and site drawings.
• Previous experience in a professional AV or corporate AV environment.
• Experience with software such as Sketch Up, Vectorworks, Revit, Capture, Auto Desk or similar.

• Basic AutoCAD/CAD/Sketchup knowledge.
• Understanding of technical drawings, dimensions and scale.
• Good computer literacy and ability to learn new software.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and accuracy.
• Good communication and ability to take direction and feedback.
• Interest in AV, audio, lighting or technical design.
• Basic understanding of the AV or corporate environment.

• Previous AV, corporate AV, events or installation experience.
• 3D design/rendering experience.
• Understanding of audio, lighting, video, control systems or AV products.
• Experience reading architectural plans and site drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant design software such as Sketch Up, Capture Visualizer and Auto Desk/Auto Cad
