Architectural Technologist

Are you an Architectural Technologist who's just as comfortable building Revit families as you are talking specification with an architect on site?

We're recruiting on behalf of an established name in architectural hardware solutions for a technologist who can bridge the gap between BIM modelling and specification sales, someone who wants their technical skill to translate directly into commercial results.

This is a hybrid role: part BIM specialist, part specification consultant, part relationship-builder. You'll be the go-to technical resource for architects, designers, contractors and developers looking to specify compliant, well-documented hardware solutions into their projects and you'll see those specifications through from concept to sign-off.

What You'll Be Doing

• Creating and maintaining Revit families, and integrating hardware product data into BIM models to support accurate project specifications.
• Preparing hardware schedules and technical specification documentation, ensuring compliance with SANS standards and building regulations.
• Identifying and tracking project opportunities, and driving specifications toward sales conversion in partnership with the sales team.
• Representing hardware requirements in BIM coordination meetings, resolving design clashes with architectural, structural and MEP teams before they reach site.
• Delivering CPD presentations and technical workshops to grow awareness of BIM-ready product solutions in the design community.
• Building lasting relationships with architects, designers, developers and contractors, and providing responsive technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining accurate CRM and pipeline records, and reporting on specification and sales forecasts.

What You'll Bring

• A qualification in Architectural Technology (or a related built-environment discipline).
• Strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows, ideally with experience developing product families or content.
• Familiarity with SANS standards, building regulations and specification documentation.
• A confident, relationship-driven approach — you're as comfortable presenting to architects as you are following up a lead.
• A specification-to-sales mindset: you understand that great technical work is what unlocks commercial opportunity.
• Solid communication and coordination skills for working across design, technical and sales teams.
